Abstract

1400062 Radiator cap BLAU KG FABRIK FUER KRAFTFAHRZEUGTEILE 21 July 1972 [5 Aug 1971 30 Aug 1971] 34175/72 Heading B8T [Also in Divisions F2 and F4] In a closure cover 1, e.g. a radiator cap, having first and second valve members 8<SP>1</SP> and 6 adapted to open automatically above and below predetermined pressures, the valve members 8<SP>1</SP> and 6 are normally spring urged via a compression spring 7 to a position where they respectively close apertures 5<SP>11</SP> and 5<SP>1</SP> in a partition 5. The valve member 8<SP>1</SP> is located at one end of a rod 8 passing freely through the aperture 5<SP>11</SP>; the other end of the rod carries a base-plate 9. The compression spring 7 extends between the base-plate 9 and the underside of the valve member 6. Bayonet fastenings 3<SP>1</SP> on a spring urged bridge member 3 extend outwardly through diametrically opposed cut-outs 2<SP>1</SP> in a pot-shaped housing 2. A sealing ring 10 is disposed between the flanged edge 2<SP>111</SP> of the housing 2 and the partitition 5. Fluid may enter or leave the closure cover via peripheral openings 5<SP>111</SP> in the partition 5 and openings 2<SP>IV</SP> surrounding the flanged housing 2. In an alternative embodiment (see Fig. 2, not shown) two compression springs (7<SP>1</SP>, 7<SP>11</SP>) are utilized.
