Abstract

1295535 Glazing window &c frames; drainage ALKONO ALUMINIUMKONSTRUKTIES NIJHUIS OOSTERBEEK NV 20 March 1970 13618/70 Headings E1J and E1R Glazing or panelling 7 is secured by a single glazing strip 8 in a hollow metal frame 1 which is provided with drainage apertures 21, 22, 23 in its cross-members 4, 6 to communicate with the external atmosphere, elastomeric sealing strips 12, 18 also being arranged on each side of the glazing 7, the outer sealing strip 12 being shaped to engage the edge of the glazing strip 8, and a T-section rib 5 being formed on the cross-member 4 to support the glazing 7. As shown, neoprene supporting blocks 11 are arranged on the member 4 between the apertures 22 and between the T-rib 5 and a ledge 10, and further neoprene elements 9 directly carrying the glazing 7 bear on the rib 5, ledge 10 and blocks 11. The sealing strips are also of neoprene, and the outer strip 12 is formed with two longitudinal lips 13, 14 to engage round the edge 15 of the snap- or metal glazing strip 8. The hollow metal fixed frame 25 is similarly constructed with drainage apertures 30, 31, and rain &c penetrating between the movable frame 1 and fixed frame 25 drains down to the sill 33.
