Abstract

1294819 Centrifugal separator WIBE LUFTUND WARMETECHNIK GmbH 16 June 1971 [18 June 1970] 28281/71 Heading B2P A separator for removing solids from a gas comprises a chamber 4, a duct 1 opening through a wall 7 of the chamber, a suction device, e.g. a radial fan wheel 3, located in the chamber for drawing the solids-laden gas into the chamber through the duct 1, a guide web 5 for separated solids located at a distance from and substantially around the suction device and leading to a solids discharge opening 6 in the chamber, arcuate guide members 6a for the solids located between the suction device and the guide web, and guide plates 8 between which the separated gas is discharged from the chamber, the guide plates being located around the duct 1 in the wall 7 of the chamber and being inclined to that wall. Due to centrifugal force caused by rotation of the fan wheel 3 the solids are deposited on both sides of the guide web 5 and are directed thereby to the opening 6. The inclination of the guide plates 8 may be adjustable.
