Abstract
1293114 Reservoir pens L P BASHAM 19 April 1971 [9 Dec 1970] 26520/71 Heading B6P A dual style fountain pen comprises a primary stylus 19, having a stem portion, slidably mounted within the bore of an inset member 13 mounted in an end of a pen barrel 10, and a nib portion 20 extendable through a tubular secondary stylus 21 mounted on said member 13, the bore terminating in a cavity 16 housing spring means which bias the primary stylus 19 outwardly, the member having ink passages 31 which conduct ink from the barrel 10 to ink duct means (28), Fig. 2 (not shown) in the stem portion of the primary stylus 19 which means interconnect the cavity, nib portion, and a, chamber 30 of the secondary stylus. The nib portion 20'may comprise a pair of nibs (35), (36), divided by a slit (37) extending from the writing tip to a diametral bore (38) in fluid communica tion with the root of the ink ducts (28). The ink ducts may be restricted by ridges (42), Fig. 4 (not shown), formed, e.g. by pins (41), in the insert member 13, which may be of plastics material such as that available under the registered trade mark "Teflon". Air ducts 29 in the secondary stylus and pin holes in the cavity wall may be provided. The secondary stylus may have a tip of irregular form.
