Abstract

1292456 Wall plugs; pipe stoppers DR ING KOENIG AG 31 Oct 1969 [1 Nov 1968] 53378/69 Headings F2H and F2P An expandable plug which may be employed to plug a bore in a fluid system comprises a sleeve 4 co-operating with a pin 1 in such a way that axial displacement of the pin causes the sleeve to expand radially outwardly. The pin, which may have a portion 7 arranged to break when a predetermined tension is applied to the plug, has, in one embodiment, a tapered head 1a co-operating with a tapered bore in the sleeve 4. In a further embodiment, a sleeve 17 (Fig. 3) having a pair of tapered internal surfaces co-operates with a pair of tapered rings 18, 19 surrounding a blind rivet.
