Abstract
1292161 Analogue calculating BRITISH BROADCASTING CORP 31 July 1970 [10 Sept 1969] 44657/69 Heading G4G The outputs of three integrators 11a, 11b, 11c are combined in any desired manner in a function generator 15 the output of which is compared with a reference level VR in comparator 16 and when the output exceeds VR a pulse generator 18 is triggered to provide pulses to stop the integrators and actuate sample and hold circuits 12a, 12b, 12c which record the outputs of the integrators which are then reset by further pulses from generator 18. The function generator 15 may be an adder in which case by setting VR = 1 the outputs of the integrators will be normalized when the pulse generator is triggered. Fig. 5 (not shown) is of a circuit used for performing division by omitting the function generator 15 and applying the signal held by one integrator 11b to the output of the apparatus when the output of the other integrator 11a reaches a predetermined level. Signals representing the divisor and dividend are applied to the inputs of integrators 11a, 11b respectively.
