Abstract

1291672 Disinfecting rooms &c DETEC SA 19 April 1971 [13 Feb 1970] 21252/71 Heading A5G Enclosed areas such as rooms are disinfected by adjusting the temperature to 32-35‹C and the relative humidity to approximately 75% introducing formaldehyde vapour into the atmosphere for a time and at a concentration sufficient to achieve sterilization and then introducing ammonia vapour to neutralize the formaldehyde. Apparatus for carrying out the process is described and comprises a heater, a humidifyer, reservoirs of formaldehyde and ammonia solutions and means for generating vapours from them by heating, controls being provided so that the sequence of operations can be carried out automatically.
