Abstract
1289882 Valves DOWTY TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENTS Ltd 19 April 1971 [24 April 1970] 19694/70 Heading F2V With each of a pair of selector valves 12, 13 in neutral, fluid in supply passage 53 is led direct to exhaust 21 via open-centre passage 57-63, and an auxiliary inlet port 72 connected to the displacement control mechanism of the supply pump is connected to exhaust 21 or, in the present case to exhaust (73), via 67-71 thereby unloading the pump. Movement of either spool to either of its work positions by lever 42, 45 against spring 49 closes the open-centre passage and passage 67-71. The pump is thereby loaded and fluid passes via check valves 56 to inlet passages 54, 55 associated with both spools. One of the spools may be omitted and a monobloc construction may be employed. Instead of using spools, rectangular cross-section or rotary valve members may be used. Where two or more valve members are used, the pump unloader passage need not be controlled by all the members.
