Abstract

1289397 Control of I. C. engine throttle valve HONDA GIKEN KOGYO KK 18 Dec 1970 [26 Dec 1969] 60348/70 Heading F1B An I. C. engine intake passage 3 has a throttle valve 4 opened by a wire 8 and normally closed by a spring 7 when wire 8 is released, apparatus being provided to close the valve forcibly should it not close on release of wire 8. A solenoid 15 when energized, causes a core 17 to rotate and move a disk 18 into engagement with disk 11, by means of a spiral groove 21 co-operating with a pin 22. The disc 11 rotates the valve 4 to its closed position against a weak spring 12 which engages a pin 11α, slidable in slot 13 of a pulley 6. The solenoid is energized via a switch (23), closed when the accelerator pedal is released and a switch (24) closed if the valve 4 does not return to its closed position. A switch (27) closing when brake pedal (26) is pressed may be provided.
