Abstract
1287371 Fixing a light-sensitive silver halide aluminium plate FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 7 Oct 1970 [7 Oct 1969] 47753/70 Heading G2C A fixing solution comprises ammonium thiosulphate, ammonium thiocyanate and a buffer, the concentration of the ammonium thiosulphate being not less than 0‹5 mole per litre of water, and the molar ratio of ammonium thiosulphate to ammonium thiocyanate being from 1:0À5 to 1:10. The concentration of ammonium thiosulphate may be 150-300 g., and the concentration of ammonium thiocyanate may be 50-350 g., per litre of water. The buffer may be monosodium phosphate. The solution may also contain potassium pyrosulphite or sodium sulphite. The solution may be used to fix a developed image formed on an exposed photo-sensitive element comprising an anodically oxidized aluminium support carrying a photosensitive silver halide in the pores of the oxide layer. The aluminium support may contain 0À05-1À0% by weight of copper. After fixing the element may be washed in water, the image intensified with gold chloride solution and the element heat-sealed in a solution containing nickel acetate.
