Abstract

1286039 Dispensing beverages IMD ITALIANA MACCHINE DISTRIBUZIONE SpA 18 Feb 1970 [21 Feb 1969] 7895/70 Heading A4T [Also in Divisions B1 and B2] Carbonated beverages dispensing machine has a carbonated water tank 1 with a dispensing valve 5 and a water inlet valve 6 controlled so as not to be open at the same time. The valves 5, 6, and the valve 15, which controls the flow of gas to discharge the contents of a capsule 17 of flavouring substance, are magnetic valves controlled by a timer Fig.2 (not shown). The valve 6 when energized connects the tank to a water supply conduit 19 and when de-energized to a gas supply capillary tube 7. A gas supply 8 has reduced valves 12, 9, 13 for delivering the water through the conduit 19 to the tank 1, for delivering gas through the tube 7 to the tank but at a lower pressure, and for delivering gas to the capsule 17. The timer operates the valves as follows: (a) the valve 6 is de-energized, (b) the valve 5 is opened for a pre-selected time to dispense carbonated water, and as the pressure falls gas flows from the tube 7 into the tank, (c) the valve 15 is opened to discharge the flavouring substance and (d) the valve 6 is energized so that water refills the tank. The refilling stage is terminated by a pressure transducer 18 which de-energises the valve 6 when a predetermined pressure is reached in the tank 1. The tank may be refrigerated.
