Abstract

1285648 Weighing-apparatus FR HESSER MASCHINENFABRIK A G 3 Nov 1970 [11 Nov 1969] 52161/70 Heading G1W In a weighing and price calculating device comprising a calculator 13 which (i) is adapted (through connection to a weight signalling unit 2 through two memories 3, 4) to receive signals corresponding to the weights of packets 24 conveyed to a weigher 1 and (ii) is connected through a data distributor 14 to a printer 16, 19 for printing out signalled weights and prices calculated there from on to tickets to accompany the packets 24, (a) a memory 5 is connected between the weigher 1 and calculator 13, the memory containing addresses and being adapted to store at least two selectable numerical values (of e.g. price per unit weight) and (b) the memory has an address selector switch (not shown). The address-containing memory 5 comprises at least two multi-position numerical selector switches equipped with a device to guard against unintentional adjustment thereof or it comprises a punched card (or strip) reader. The printer 16 has a plurality of selectable commodity name printing plates and the plate corresponding to the commodity coded on the packet 24 is selected by a code reader 42. Price per unit coded markings for controlling the address selector switch in the memory 5 are detected by the code reader 42 if they occur on the packets 24 or by another code reader 17 if they are provided on the commodity name printing plates. When a light unit 22 signals a balance condition of the weigher 1 of a control unit 15 in conjunction with a replaceable programme unit 6 initiates multiplication in two units of calculator 13. When the results are the same they are compared with a target result, when the result is satisfactory the price value may be rounded up or down and if necessary converted to another currency before transfer to the distributer 14 for subsequent printing on the ticket by printer 19 under control of unit 15.
