Abstract

1283002 Switching circuit; radio transmitting apparatus GENERAL ELECTRIC CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [2 March 1970] 9919/70 Addition to 1068216 Headings H3P and H4L In a switching apparatus, one of a plurality of first two-conductor paths is connected via a respective switching network to a further two-conductor path, each switching network comprising first and second diodes 6, 7 connected in series in like sense between first corresponding conductors of the first and further two-conductor paths, third and fourth diodes 3, 4 being similarly connected from the junction of the other two corresponding conductors of the first and further two-conductor paths to a bias input 15, the junctions between the first and second and third and fourth diodes being interconnected. Biasing means are provided to either effectively connect or break the first coresponding two-conductor path by respectively biasing the first and second diodes 6, 7 forwards and the third and fourth diodes 3, 4 backwards or biasing the first and second diodes 6, 7 backwards and the third and fourth diodes 3, 4 forwards, the fourth diode 7 of each network being contained in a unit 12 which is detachably connected to a unit 11 containing the remaining diodes. The units may be connected by coaxial plugs and sockets. The switching apparatus is used in a multichannel communications system to route each group of six groups of channels to a respective transmitter-receiver link or to one of two standby links.
