Abstract

1283044 Steam turbines C A PARSONS & CO Ltd 5 Aug 1969 [21 Aug 1968] 39987/68 Heading F1T A steam turbine comprises means for extracting water from wet steam, there being a drainage area 4 in the turbine casing 2 located downstream of a row of rotor blades 1 and upstream of a row of stator blades 3, the drainage area comprising a plurality of circumferentially spaced elongated slots 5, the slots being disposed to lie in planes containing the axis of rotation of the rotor and being connected to a region which in operation of the turbine is at a lower pressure than the steam pressure in the region of the drainage area.
