Abstract
1,087,514. Steam turbine blades. HITACHI Ltd. April 7, 1966 [April 9, 1965], No.15704/66. Heading F1T. A steam turbine blade vibration damping construction comprises grooves 6 formed in the surface of each blade 8 adjacent its leading edge to collect condensation water from the steam flow and direct it radially outwards through apertures 5 in an integral shroud segment 4 into spaces 12, 13, to act as a vibration damping fluid. The spaces are formed between the segment 4 and a shroud ring 10 having further shroud segments riveted, screwed or welded to its intermediate adjacent blades.
