Abstract

1282904 Capacitors; coils MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO Ltd 4 Sept 1969 [10 Sept 1968 (2)] 43923/69 Headings H1M and HIP Foil conductors 1 for capacitor electrodes or electromagnetic coils have on at least one surface synthetic resin insulating material in the form of dots 2 as shown, or lines (Fig. 2, not shown) to function as spacing means e.g. as in the wound coil shown in Fig. 3. The conductor may be aluminium or copper. The resin material may be polyvinyl chloride, polyamide, epoxy resin, polypropylene, polytetrafluoroethylene, phenol resin, alkyd resin, polyester or silicone, and may contain inorganic fillers e.g. BaTiO 3 . The resin may be applied as powder by fluid dipping, electrostatic attachment or spray coating, or by printing a thixotropic resin and hardening, or spraying a thermosetting liquid resin. The height and width may be 5 to 100 Á, and the distance between dots or ridges 5 to 50 Á. The surface of the conductor may have been pickled, etched, or chemically or anodically oxidized. In a wound capacitor or coil, the free space may be filled with insulating oil, sulphur hexafluoride or resin.
