Abstract

1282194 Gas filter FULLER CO 21 Feb 1970 8440/70 Heading BIT Inward flow-filter bags 8 are secured in their respective apertures in plate 10, which separates a lower inlet chamber (4, 6) (Fig. 1, not shown) from an upper outlet chamber, having a filtered gas outlet (16) and a cleaning gas inlet (14), by means of clamping plates 42 bearing on upper rings 34 of internal supporting cages 30, 32, rings 34 bearing in turn on outurned flanges 20 of the bags, to which are stitched annular fabric members incorporating steel reinforcing rings 26. Plates 42 are triangular or otherwise lobed. Cages 30, 32 may be made in sections, section 30 pushing into section 32 and portions 36 deforming to lock them together. A cover (12) provides access to upper chamber (2), enabling clamps to be loosened and bags withdrawn. Bags 8 are cylindrical and made of natural or synthetic woven cloth or felt.
