Abstract

1281570 Partitions PAPSCO BUILDING PRODUCTS Inc 22 Dec 1969 [30 April 1969] 62472/69 Heading E1W A partition comprises rectangular panels 14 set in a peripheral framework of panel-overlapping channel-sectioned horizontal framing members 12 and 13, fastened to the ceiling and floor respectively, and channel- or H-sectioned side members, e.g. 15, with optional generally H-sectioned posts 15 arranged between the panels. Each panel has a honeycombed central layer 48 with composition board outer layers 49 and 50. A post 15 may comprise two channelled members, e.g. 60 (Fig. 6) secured (as at L.H.S.) or bolted (as at R.H.S.) together, or may have a solid web (Fig. 7, not shown). The floor rail 13, may be fastened to a carpeted surface by spiked plates 40 with slightly diverging spikes 43, or stuck to a solid surface by an adhesive-coated plate 45 (Fig. 4, not shown). Channel-sectioned vertical members 78 or 78' are used at the partition ends, and have grooves 84 in their flanges into which ribs 66 along the edges of posts 15 are snapped.
