Abstract

1280811 Tool setting apparatus K A J HEAD 7 July 1969 [6 April 1968] 16665/68 Headings B3B B3C and B3T A tool setting fixture comprises a base member 1 with a vertical column 2 which slidably supports an arm 13 carrying a centre 12 and a gauging member 19, 20. An adaptor 4 is locatable in the base 1 to which a tool carrier or centre 10 is located, the centre 10 being aligned with the centre 12. A further arm 26 is provided on the column 2 and which carries a micrometer gauge 25 to facilitate the transverse setting of a cutting tool in its carrier, in relation to a standard bar member 18 which is locatable between the centres 10 and 12. The gauging member 19 is provided with a graduated scale 23 for longitudinal setting of a boring bar when located in the centre housing 8 of adaptor 4.
