Abstract

1280854 Flooring material NAIRN-WILLIAMSON Ltd 19 Oct 1970 [29 Oct 1969] 52996/69 Heading B2E [Also in Division B5] A flooring material which does not curl comprises a substrate (such as a felt, suitably impregnated with 'bitumen or synthetic rubber, woven fabrics, e.g. of cotton or nylon, or paper) coated on the floor-contacting face with a vinyl composition comprising a vinyl chloride homopolymer or copolymer, a plasticiser and a filler, wherein the resin to plasticiser ratio is between 2:1 and 3.5:1 and the filler is present in amounts of between 25 and 70% by weight, and coated on the wearing surface with a linoleum composition. The vinyl resin may be polyvinyl chloride or a copolymer of vinyl chloride with vinyl acetate or vinylidene chloride. A key coating may be applied to the substrate before application of the composition which may be applied as preformed sheets or by calendering.
