Abstract

1278335 Endless conveyers DOWTY MECO Ltd 20 Nov 1970 [25 Nov 1969] 57553/69 Addition to 1111514 Heading B8A A feeder conveyer of the scraper chain type for use in mines, comprises a horizontal scraper conveyer structure 1 having endless chains 2, the structure 1 extending under a ramp section 5 over which the chains 2 which move from right to left, run via a ramp 7, and over a driven sprocket assembly 8 and curved guide 9 back to the left of structure 1. Coal is discharged from the chains 2 as they pass over the sprockets 8 on to a transversely extending conveyer 11 which extends across the structure 1. As successive webs of coal are cut and the point of delivery of the coal by a face conveyer (not shown) on to the structure 1 moves towards the unit 5, the structure 1 is moved relative to the unit 5 towards the left in the Figure.
