Abstract

1278147 Ship building MITSUBISHI JUKOGYO KK 5 June 1970 [5 June 1969] 27433/70 Heading B7S Sections SA and SF of a ship, or other floating structure, are constructed separately on land and are launched successively by hauling them on to a composite pontoon P 1 , P 2 (Fig. 6) which is subsequently submerged. After the second section SA has been launched, part P 2 of the pontoon is separated from part P 1 and located under the previously launched section SF whereafter the flooding of buoyancy tanks in the pontoons is regulated to move the sections SA, SF into alignment for subsequent connection Fig. 9 shows a modification in which pontoon P comprises separable pontoons P 1-5 which are arranged during connection of the sections with pontoons P 1 , P 3 , P 5 under section SF.
