Abstract
1277601 Injectable local anaesthetics ESPE FABRIK PHARMAZEUTISCHER PRAPARATE GmbH 24 Oct 1969 [31 Oct 1968] 52143/69 Heading A5B Injectable local anaesthetics contain in aqueous solution a local anaesthetic active agent, a vasoconstrictor and a beta-receptor blocking agent. The solution preferably contains 0.2 to 4% by weight of the local anaesthetic, 10 to 100 ppm of the vasoconstrictor and at least 50 ppm of the beta receptor blocking agent. The local anaesthetic active agent may be #-diethylamino-2, 6-dimethylacetanilide (lidocaine), #-butylamino-2-methyl-6-chloroacetanilide, rac N-methylhexahydropicolinyl-2, 6-dimethylanilide and/or 3-methyl-2-(diethylamino)-acetylamino benzoic acid methyl ester in free base or acid addition salt form such as a hydrochloride, phosphate or bitartrate and the vasoconstrictor may be adrenalin, nor adrenalin and/or p-(2- amino-1-hydroxy-propyl)-pyrocatechol (Corbadrin). The beta-receptor blocking agent may be one or more substances of the general formulae: wherein Ar is an unsubstituted or methyl-, allyl-, or allyloxy-substituted phenyl or naphthyl radical or a heterocyclic radical of aromatic character e.g. indolyl and Ar is an unsubstituted or chloro-substituted phenyl or naphthyl radical, in particular propranolol, 1- isopropylamino-3-[o-allyl oxy (or allyl) phenoxy]-2-propanol, 1-isopropylamino-3-[m-methylphenoxy]-2-propanol and/or 1-isopropylamino-3-indolyl-2-propanol.
