Abstract

1276485 Container closures P PLURA 1 April 1971 8433/71 Heading B8T An expansible stopper has a flexible stem 2 inserted into a bottle neck 3, a cap 4 to bear against the neck end 5, a screw 6 passing through the stem, and a member 7 inside the stem with which the screw engages. The internal bore of the stem decreases upwards. As the screw is turned by means of a knob 11, the member 7 is drawn up inside the stem, so forcing the stem out against the bottle neck and drawing the cap down against the neck end. The stem 2, formed with flexible tongues 8, bears against a rubber sleeve 13 attached to a sealing flange 12.
