Abstract

1276329 Hydrolysed polyester fibres EASTMAN KODAK CO 28 Aug 1969 [3 Sept 1968] 42916/69 Heading B5B [Also in Division D2] In Example 4 a tow of filaments of polyethylene terephthalate is drawn at a ratio of 3 : 1 in a 0À25% aqueous NaOH bath at 68‹ C., followed by further drawing at a ratio of 1À34 : 1 in a steam chest at 150‹ C. The fibres are heatset and cut into staple for use in reinforcing paper.
