1276038 Cooling I C engines KLOCKNERHUMBOLDT-DEUTZ A G 6 May 1970 [8 May 1969] 21834/70 Heading F1B An engine in a closed space 1, e.g. an airraid shelter, has an air chamber 10 communicating with the atmosphere through an inlet duct 8 containing a baffle 13, the space is connected to the atmosphere by an outlet duct 11 containing a baffle 12 and a fan 9 draws cooling air through the inlet duct. A by-pass 14 connected to the channel formed by the duct 8 and chamber 10 permits air to flow around the fan 9 which is capable of delivering at a sufficiently high-pressure to compensate for the resistance of the baffles 12, 13. The engine may be water cooled with the fan directing air to the engine radiator.
