Abstract

1,274,994. Stud and socket fastenings; furniture hinge attachment. J. BLUM [trading as JULIUS BLUM], 22 July, 1970 [26 Sept., 1969], No. 35587/70. Headings E2B and E2F. A fitting, particularly a base plate for a furniture hinge, includes not less than two fastening plugs, at least one plug 2 serving merely as an inserting plug and at least one plug 1 being expandible, the latter being made of plastics material and having a central bore accessible from outside the fitting to receive an expanding element, e.g. a pin 10; the plug or plugs 2, are made integrally with the fitting and of metal and each plug 1 is undetachably secured in a recess in the fitting. As shown, the mounting plate 3 has a neck 4 disposed between a head 5 and barbs 6 of the plug 2 which is longitudinally slotted, and the plate has a screwed hole 14 for the reception of a hinge-securing bolt 13. In a modification the plugs 2 are hollow.
