Abstract

1295049 Stud and socket fastenings F T PRODUCTS Ltd 1 Jan 1970 [1 Jan 1969] 149/69 Heading E2B A rotatable stud comprises a circular head 11 having a slot 14 for a screw driver or the like enabling it to be rotated, a shank 12 projecting from the head, outwardly projecting lugs 19, 20 at the end of the shank and a frusto conical shoulder portion 16 on the shank forming an abutment surface facing the head, a portion 15 of the shank having an approximately square cross section and the lugs 19, 20 together forming a nose portion which is elongate in cross' section.' The corners of the shank portion 15 are chamfered. The stud is described as being applicable to securing a panel 21 to a plate 22. The nose portion of the stud is passed through elongated holes 23, 27 in the panel and plate respectively and then rotated through a right angle. The. central portion of the hole in the panel is enlarged to fit around the portion 15 and the central portion of the hole in the plate is enlarged to fit around the frusto conical portion 16. The stud may be made of plastics.
