1,274,157. 6-Aminopenicillanic acid. INSTYTUT ANTYBIOTYKOW. 16 Dec., 1970 [16 Dec., 1969], No. 59819/70. Heading C2A. A method of preparing 6-APA comprises fermenting an aqueous solution of benzyl penicillin or a salt thereof in a nutrient medium having a pH value of from 6À0-9À5 and at a temperature of from 15-45‹ C., by means of enzymes contained in the cell mass of the microorganism Thiobacillus trautweinii to form a mycelium and recovering the 6-APA therefrom.
