Abstract

1,274,051. Transistor switching circuits. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. 13 Aug., 1969 [14 Aug., 1968], No. 40460/69. Heading H3T. [Also in Division F1] In a switching circuit comprising a transistor monostable multivibrator 1, 2, 7, a changeover switching mechanism, such as, a relay or electronic switch 6, 14 is arranged in the collector circuit of transistor 2 and the switching mechanism is operative to shunt a timing resistor 18, connectible between the base of the transistor 1 and a power supply line, when the multivibrator is in its stable state with 1 and 2 on and off, the switching mechanism is arranged to change over so as to open the shunt circuit when the multivibrator is in its quasi stable state and in the changed over state is adapted to connect the glow plug across a power supply. The circuit supplies power to a glow plug 21 in a diesel engine for a certain time after the start of the engine which causes a switch 23 to be closed, thus triggering the multivibrator. Switch 14 is then actuated to provide an alternative current path through terminal 20 to glow plug 21. Resistor 18 may be replaced by a variable resistor. A resistor 17 may be connected in parallel with the resistor 18 through a switch 12 in position c.
