Abstract

1,273,761. Fastenings. H. R. MONTEFIORE. 2 July, 1969 [14 Jan., 1969], No. 2165/ 69. Headings E2A and E2B. The vertical stem 10 of a mole plough is secured to a support 11 by means of ramps 12, 13, 14 on the support and wedges 16, 25, 18 which are normally spring loaded into the fastening position but which are released by axial movement of their linking rod 15 by a hydraulic piston 30. To release the stem 10 for movement, pressure is fed to cylinder 28 at 31 to move the piston 30 to the right against spring 20 to release wedges 16 and 18. When wedge 16 engages stop 32 the whole cylinder 28 moves to the left to free wedge 25 which is fixed to it. Venting of the cylinder pressure reapplies the grip of the three wedges. The wedges may be replaced by conical devices.
