Abstract
1,272,605. Tyre repair patches. FRITZ HESSELBEIN CHEMISCHE FABRIK. 4 Aug., 1969 [6 Aug., 1968], No. 38980/69. Heading B7C. A repair patch for pneumatic tyres comprises a plurality of superposed plies 1, 2, 3, of parallel cords embedded in rubber, sandwiched between a covering layer 4 and a padding layer 5, both of rubber, which layers have a feathered margin 6 extending beyond the cord plies, characterized in that the cords of at least one cord ply 2 extend at an acute angle to the cords of the remaining plies. The cords are made of polyurethane or polyamid, and the outer face of the padding layer 5 has a coat of adhesive, protected by a foil. The patch is shaped and vulcanized in a press. The ply 2 may be bias-cut and aligned with its edges parallel to the corresponding edges of the remaining plies, or it may be parallel-cut and aligned with its edges oblique to the corresponding edges of the remaining plies, Fig. 2 (not shown).
