1,270,430. Orientating articles. INSTITUT FIZIKI AN LATVIISKOI SSR. 17 Dec., 1969, No. 61638/69. Heading B8S. Disoriented non-conductive bodies e.g. bodies 10 are oriented by being fed by conveyer 11 into the electric field produced between electrodes 2 and 3 on the one hand, and electrode 4 on the other hand, the electrodes being charged by A.C. source 6, and being supported by insulating members 5. Each body has a slot 8 so that the field exerts different forces upon two sides of each body to cause the bodies of one orientation to be deflected down shoot 9 and the bodies of the other orientation to be deflected down shoot 12.
