Abstract

1,270,346. Alarm systems. SQUARE D CO. 5 March, 1970, No. 10567/70. Addition to 1,173,186. Heading G4N. [Also in Division G1] The invention comprises a transformer-action ADAPTOR-ATTACHMENT to enable other transducers to be used locally or remotely to operate a proximity switch. A coupling coil in a housing is provided for attachment to the parent proximity switch so that it co-operates with the sensor coil as a transformer secondary connected to an outlet socket for (i) larger plugin search coils or (ii) remote cable connected search coils, or (iii) other transducer varying the loading on the oscillator, such as thermistor, photo-conductive cell, variable capacitor or inductor. Two or more remote heads may be connected in series or parallel to provide an AND/OR function, Fig. 16 (not shown).
