Abstract

1,165,044. Watchman-location system. HORSTMANN GEAR CO. Ltd. 6 March, 1968 [31 May, 1967], No. 25198/67. Heading G4T. A watchman-location system comprises a mobile radio transmitter having an oscillator without a frequency-determining element, a lead from the oscillator terminating in a jack plug, a number of wall boxes each containing a different frequency-determining element such that when the jack plug is plugged into a wall box a characteristic modulating frequency is superimposed on a continuously-emitted carrier wave, and a remote receiver tuned to the carrier wave and having frequency filters, corresponding to each wall box, which operate respective relays on receipt of their characteristic frequency, causing a corresponding indicating lamp to be illuminated. It may be arranged that a lamp so illuminated is kept illuminated until another lamp is caused to be illuminated. The transmitter may be a V.H.F. transmitter.
