Abstract

1,270,152. Buckles. IRVIN INDUSTRIES Inc. 3 Dec., 1969 [4 Dec., 1968], No. 59088/69. Heading E2A. A two part buckle comprises a channel shaped part 10 connected to one end of a belt part F and having a projecting portion 22 releasably engaging an aperture in a tongue 140 connected to one end of another belt webbing G, a spring urged latch member 100 slidable on the part 10 overlies a part of the tongue to retain it in the part 10, the latch member being released from the tongue by pressing a push button 58 slidable in an opening in a cover member thereby depressing a latch release member 84 having end inclined surfaces which bear on inclined surfaces of the latch member and move the latch member against the action of the spring 132 to release the tongue. The cover member has an opening for the press button which is urged upwardly by a spring 95. The spring is supported on one bar 75 of two transverse end bars 30, 75. In a modification the spring acting on the push button also urges the latch member to engaging position.
