Abstract

1,267,895. Windscreen wipers. ANDERSON CO. Oct. 8, 1970 [Nov.19, 1969; Feb.16, 1970], No.48011/70. Heading A4F. A windscreen wiper arm 35, Fig.3, having an abutment 36 on a straight outer end portion of rectangular cross-section is connected in side-byside relationship to a harness part 24, Fig. 5, of a wiper blade by a connector comprising a member 12 including a housing portion for receiving the end of the wiper arm 35, manually releasable resilient means 34 for locking the abutment 36 in the housing portion, and a pin for releasable engagement with the harness part 24 and secured to the walls 15, 16 of a channel shaped portion of the member 12. The opposite end of the pin passes through side walls 26 of the part 24 to be held releasably by a leaf-spring 27 which engages a pin portion 21 of reduced diameter. The resilient means 34 comprises a leaf-spring interengaged at one end with a part 33 of the member 12 and having an aperture 37 to receive the abutment 36. A fingerpiece 38 on the spring 34 is operable torelease the abutment 36. In an alternative embodiment the pin 18 Fig.6 (not shown) is releasably latched by a leafspring to the connector member 12 and may be arranged to project from either side of the latter.
