Abstract
1,266,735. Degasing water. MASCHINENBAU A.G. BALCKE. 17 Dec., 1969 [18 Dec., 1968], No. 61455/69. Heading F4A. Apparatus for degasing water particularly boiler feedwater Comprises a tank 1 in which the feedwater enters through a feedpipe 13 to a trickle vessel 2 in which it flows downwardly and over steam racks 12 to mix with steam which discharges through holes in steam pipes 7, and flows through a re-boiling chamber 6 where remaining degasing takes place. Gases which accumulate are drawn off via cowls (25), Fig. 2 (not shown), and pipes 4. The steam from a turbine enters through an inlet 16 and is distributed by pipes 9 and perforated heating pipes 17 while the feedwater is distributed to the trickle vessel 2 by branches 14 incorporating flow guiding devices 24. The water leaving the trickle vessel 2 passes via overflow edges (21) to flow through the space between walls (22) and 5 to the re-boiling chamber 6. Degasified water passes into the tank 1 and is subsequently delivered therefrom through a shaft 18, cooled by the incoming feedwater to a discharge pipe 19 having apertures 20. The feedpipe 13 may have ribs on its inner and outer surfaces to assist cooling.
