In a break spinning device a conduit 3 carries an air stream which lifts fibres from the combing roller 5 and carries them to the spinning chamber. The edge 11 between the conduit and roller chamber at the downstream end of the protruding portion of the roller is formed with a flat or curved surface facing generally circumferentially of the roller. It is stated that this prevents fibres being carried past this point on the roller.
