Abstract

1,265,460. Safety closure for bottles. CHEMISCHE WERKE HULS A.G. 25 Nov., 1970 [26 Nov., 1969], No. 56041/70. Heading B8T. A closure comprises an outer part (Fig. 3) in which is rotatably fitted an inner part (Fig. 8) which has screw threads 10 for fitting to the neck of a bottle (not shown). The inner part is retained by projections 4, has a cylindrical plug 6 which fits through a hole 3 in the outer part, and has a ring of teeth 8 which engage similar teeth 5 on the outer part. Both parts may be made of plastics material with the inner part more flexible than the outer part and may be tapered. When the outer part is grasped and the closure turned in a clockwise direction, the teeth 5, 8 engage so as to screw the inner part on to the bottle, but when the outer part is turned in the other direction, the teeth slip over one another. The inner part can then only be removed by engaging a suitable opening tool in the slot 7.
