Abstract

1,263,966. Floor polishing machines. HOOVER Ltd. May 6, 1969 [May 21, 1968], No.22985/69. Heading A4F. A floor polishing machine has a handle 2, mounted on a horizontal pivotal axis and carrying an electric motor 18 drivingly inter-connected, as by a belt and pulley drive 21, 22, 16, with a shaft 13 carrying a pinion 14 rotatable about an axis, substantially coincidental with said horizontal pivotal axis and driving a brush rotatable about a vertical axis. In the illustrated embodiment the pinion 14 engages gear teeth 10 on the rear portion 8 of a brush 6 Fig. 3 (not shown), and a further pinion on the shaft 13 drives a second brush 5.
