Abstract

1,261,869. Comminuting apparatus. WEDAG WESTFALIA DINNENDAHL GROPPEL AG. 18 March, 1970 [3 April, 1969], No. 12922/70. Heading B2A. A tube mill having a hollow grinding drum 1 comprises a grinding roller 4 extending longitudinally, the drum being rotationally mounted on one or more supporting runners 3. The grinding roller is supported for rotation within the drum so that the line of contact between the or each one of the rollers and drum and the line of contact between the drum and associated supporting runner or runners lie in a common plane or respective common planes passing through the central axis of the drum. As described a pair of rollers 4 may be supported by distance pieces 5 and urged against the drum wall by pull rods 6. Alternatively each roller may have its own pair of pull rods 6, Fig. 3. Thus pressure exerted on the drum wall is taken up by the runners.
