Abstract
1,261,040. Pulse generating circuits. NETWORK RESEARCH & MFG. CORP. 10 Jan., 1969 [12 Jan., 1968], No. 1682/69. Heading H3T. [Also in Division F1] The contacts for interrupting the current in an inductor are bridged by an SCR which is controlled by a timing circuit connected across the contacts. The period of interruption may thus be independant of the time the contacts are open. In the ignition system shown the opening of the contacts 14 allows a capacitor to charge through an inductor 28 until the gate voltage so provided causes the thyristor to break down. The energizing circuit for the ignition coil 13 is thus reclosed a predetermined time after interruption and before the contacts reclose. A transistor 42 may be connected in series with the ignition coil and a Zener diode 40 may clamp the voltage across the contacts and applied to the timing circuit.
