Abstract

1,260,039. Passing materials through liquids. FUKUI SEIREN KAKO K.K. 28 Aug., 1969 [6 Sept., 1968], No. 42955/69. Heading D1L. Textile material in rope form is passed through liquid in a tank 1 between a perforated concave false bottom 2 and a frame 4 mounted pivotally and coaxially with the false bottom at 3, the frame having a curved periphery on which is mounted a plurality of partitioning plates 6, perpendicular to the axis 3 of the frame and dividing the region 5 of the tank above the false bottom into zones, and a plurality of paddles 7 lying in planes through the axis 3, the frame 4 being oscillated to produce turbulence in the liquid in region 5. The textile rope is conveyed by feed rolls 10 and guiding combs 11 into the tank and passed through successive zones of the region 5 between adjacent partitioning plates 6. In a modification (Fig. 4, not shown), the frame (4') is cylindrical and the partitions (6') and paddles (7') are provided around its whole periphery; a slow rotation in the forward direction of material feed is superimposed on the oscillations of the frame.
