Abstract
1,259,714. Flash-bulbs. TOKYO SHIBAURA ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Dec.9, 1969 [Dec.10, 1968(2); Aug. 20, 1969(2)], No. 60002/69. Heading G2L. A flash-bulb comprises first and second main lead-in wires 15, 16 supporting an ignition filament 19 and an auxiliary lead-in wire 17 adjacent the first wire 15 and electrically insulated therefrom, the end portion of at least one of the wires 15, 17 being wound about the other. When the bulb is ignited the wires 15, 17 fuse together to complete a circuit to an adjacent bulb to facilitate sequential ignition. The wound portions of the wires 15, 17 may be spaced apart, as shown, and covered by a layer 20 of an anti-oxidant flux, e.g. borax. Alternatively, the portions may be separated by insulating oxide layers (21), applied before or after they are wound together, and covered with an electrically conductive mixture of silver braze and borax. Reference has been directed by the comptroller to Specification 1,1.03, 682.
