Abstract
1,256,598. Refractories. DRESSER INDUSTRIES Inc. 15 Sept., 1969 [7 Nov., 1968], No. 45384/69. Heading C1J. A castable refractory comprises a fine and a coarse fraction, the former comprising magnesite and/or dolomite; 0À5-5% of at least one alkali metal or alkaline eath metal sulphate, bisulphate or halide; 0À25-2% of boric acid; 0À25-2% of at least one saturated C 3-10 tribasic organic acid containing only C, H and O and from 1-9 OH groups, the balance of the mix being a refractory. Specified refractories are one or more of MgO, MgSiO 4 , chrome ore, olivine, forsterite, dolomite and spinels, e.g. MgOÀCr 2 O 3 . Up to 3% of Cr 2 O 3 is optional.
