1,248,870. Ship stabilizing fin. HOWALDTS WERKE-DEUTSCHE WERFT. A.G. HAMBURG UND KIEL. 23 Dec., 1969, No. 62691/69. Heading B7M. A non-retractable ship stabilizing fin 3 is driven by hydraulic rotary vane motor 14, 14a housed in casing 1 which is firmly secured to the hull 23 of the ship and which houses bearings 4, 12 for the fin shaft 2. The casing 1 also houses rotary pump 16 of the driving system along with pulse control mechanism 18 and space 1a of the casing holds hydraulic oil 21 which is cooled by contact of housing wall 7 with the sea water.
