Abstract

1,247,042. Snap-action switches; thermal switches. DANFOSS A.S. 14 Oct., 1968 [2 Nov., 1967], No. 48550/68. Heading H1N. In a snap-action switch which may be thermally actuated the initial movement of the actuator 27, 28, Fig. 1, first moves a pair of links 9, 10 towards a dead-centre position at pivot 13 whereby the moving contact 8 moves endwise against the action of spring 11 and forcibly slides on fixed contacts 5 or 7 to break the contact weld and provide a cleaning action. After reaching dead-centre the links 9, 10 snap over in slot 30 of the actuator spring 27 whereby link 10 and spring 11 are brought to a dead-centre position so that a snap-action of links 10, 11 immediately follows to bring contact 8 against the opposite fixed contact 5 or 7. The link 9 has a flexible end held by a clamp 15 having an adjustable stop 23 to limit the movement of the link 9. Fixed contact 5 is adjustable in position by screw 6. A modification in which a tension coil spring replaces the leaf spring 11 is referred to. The actuator push-button 28 may be associated with an unspecified thermostatic device.
