Abstract

1,246,935. Centrifugal and axial-flow fans. J. HAUVILLE. March 24, 1969, No.15305/69. Heading F1C. [Also in Division F4] In a roof ventilator, fresh air is drawn in by an axial-flow fan 9 and stale air is exhausted by a centrifugal fan 3, both fans being driven at the same speed by a single motor. Fresh air W is drawn in by the axial-flow fan 9 via orifices 15, passes over a hood 16 shielding the motor 4 and through the interior of arcuate deflector cones 21 to the inlet pipe 2. Stale air is drawn up the outlet pipe 1 by the centrifugal fan 3 and passes between the vanes 21 to the atmosphere. The incoming air may be heated or cooled.
