Abstract
1,246,601. Polyesters. TOA GOSEI CHEMICAL INDUSTRY CO. Ltd. 21 Jan., 1970 [28 Jan., 1969], No. 3048/70. Heading C2C. Polyester diacylates from at least one dicarboxylic acid, at least one diol and acrylic or methacrylic acid, of the type where n is an integer, A is a dicarboxylic acid residue, G a diol residue and M is acrylic or methacrylic acid residue are prepared by reacting the components in the presence of an esterifying catalyst, an azeotropic dehydrating agent and a polymerization inhibitor which is phenothiazine. The process may be in one-step or two-steps and examples describe the preparation of bis-(triethylene glycol) succinate dimethacrylate, poly-(triethylene glycol) adipate dimethacrylate, a mixture of bis-( 1 ,4-butanediol) phthalate dimethacrylate, diacrylate and methacrylate acrylate, bis-(diethylene glycol) phthalate diacrylate and bis-(diethylene glycol) succinate dimethacrylate.
